Bicycle Queensland Bike Week 2015: 25 April – 3 May

In News
Calling all cycling enthusiasts…

Bike Week is an annual cycling festival which features a range of mostly free events – both on and off the bike – making it the largest cycling festival in Queensland!

This celebration of cycling is organised by Bicycle Queensland to encourage people of all ages, sizes and cycling abilities to get into the saddle more often. So whether you’re a recreational rider wanting to socialise with like-minded bike riders, a regular rider wanting to participate in some more challenging events, or if you haven’t been on a bike for years and want to test the theory that you can’t ever forget how to ride a bike, Bike Week offers something for you!

According to Bicycle Queensland Chief Executive Officer Ben Wilson “This year’s route is a true tour of Brisbane from the east to the west and north and south of our great river with the 110km route crossing the Brisbane River over the Gateway Bridge in the east and on the iconic Moggill Ferry in the west.” The four routes on offer are of varying difficulties so anyone, whatever your abilities, can take part and view our amazing city like never before.

The Great Brisbane Bike Ride (including Coot-tha Challenge) is the final event of Bike Week, held on Sunday 3 May. Entrants in The Great Brisbane Bike Ride can choose from 110km, 75km or 40km traffic-free routes around Brisbane and can also choose the optional Mt Coot-tha timed climb.

Pedal into Bike Week with the Brisbane Riverview Hotel and carbo load with Brisbane’s best buffet breakfast. You can even choose one of our special ‘Urban Escape’ packages and enjoy FREE use of our brand new retro inspired bicycles to practice on! Call 07 3862 1800 today for details.
