The Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability, conveniently located in neighbouring Waverton, is a regional learning hub embracing and exhibiting the art of sustainable living while also providing access to the industrial remnants of yesteryear.

Operating between the 1920’s and the 1990’s as a transfer depot for coal, the former industrial site is now a fabulous meeting place for the local community, offering an information centre, picnic areas, rooms for hire and a coffee shop.

Be inspired by this unique experience dedicated to providing tips to bringing sustainable living home with you. Join in a variety of free sustainable living workshops, explore Aboriginal rock engravings and bush food gardens, visit the chook yard, the artist studio, historic coal hoarding tunnel to Balls Head or simply grab a coffee in the Coal Loader Café.

This coming Saturday, 24th March 2018 between 3pm – 9:30pm  North Sydney Council is hosting a Picnic on the Platform to celebrate the final transformation of this old industrial site into the stunning waterfront parkland it is today.

Bring your friends, relax on the lawn and enjoy a fabulous evening out. There will be live music, great food, tours, interactive art, workshops, children’s activities and more.
