Say Goodbye to the Lonely Hotel Bar

In News
At View Hotels we are known for having said goodbye to the lonely hotel bar.

No longer does a hotel guest have to sit and sip quietly on their lone drink while working away from home. We play host on Wednesday evenings to our in-house guests with a drinks and nibblies night, where guests get to drink, eat and mingle with hotel staff. It provides the perfect opportunity for both guests and staff alike to put a name to a friendly face.

“We want our guests to feel right at home,” says Harbourview General Manager Stuart Mercier. “We have many regular return guests who have become family now.”

One such regular guest is Scott Bartlett. Scott has been staying at the North Sydney Harbourview Hotel for the past year while on a year-long contract with Sydney Trains, as part of their reliability program.

“The Harbourview was the perfect choice for me,” said Mr Bartlett. “Not in the middle of town but right by the North Sydney train station and only 4 stops away from Central Station”.

“After a year at the hotel, the place felt like a second home. The staff were very welcoming and always very professional. My favourite day for me was the drinks night on Wednesday’s, where Stuart (General Manager), Lindsay Jones (Financial Controller) and John Spencer (Director of Sales) made my night very enjoyable”.

Guests arriving to our drinks night are met by our Hotel staff who circulate throughout the night. Guests are invited to complimentary wine or beer, while our illustrious Chef Jeff keeps a steady offering of delicious canapés flowing.

Our drinks night not only provides us with the opportunity to listen to what our guests really want – do they prefer to stay in a particular room? Do they have a favourite dish they crave? – but also provides discerning guests the comfort and convenience of staying in a hotel that has friendly staff, an innovative restaurant, appealing food & drinks and is a great place to socialise.

At the end of the day, we want to create a place where guest satisfaction and comfort are exceeded, and where guests like Scott Bartlett will continue to frequent and “recommend to colleagues throughout the year who also enjoy their time at the Harbourview”.
