Turn up the Volume with Museum of Brisbane’s High Rotation

Local Events
29th April 2024

The Museum of Brisbane’s High Rotation exhibition is a concert experience we didn’t even know we needed, but one visit in and we’re hooked. The exhibit, which is open until April of 2020, is essentially an exclusive backstage pass to three epic decades of Brisbane’s incredible music scene, and we can’t get enough.

Featuring some of Brisbane’s best from 1989 – 2019, High Rotation is a melodic journey down memory lane that gives music-lovers a taste of their old favorites while introducing a new generation to this ever-iconic musical era. The exhibition plays homage to the sensibilities of playlists and albums of past and present through film clips, photographs, instruments, souvenirs, and so much more.

It’s no secret to anyone at all that music is a guiding force in Brisbane’s cultural core, and High Rotation is the ultimate celebration of that. The exhibit features a catalogue of rare, remastered film clips that showcase music labels, managers, artists, producers, and venue managers—all of which share their captivating stories from Brisbane’s pulse of music.

Visitors can also check out the music prowess of stars such as The Veronicas, Sheppard, George, Keith Urban, and Kate Miller-Heidke, as well as The Grates, Violent Soho, Emma Louise, and Ball Park Music. It’s a music moment you don’t want to miss.

Grab your tickets and queue up the music.
