Summer Sydney provides the perfect background for your outdoor adventures. From inner city parks and botanic gardens to harbourside haunts with breathtaking views, there are so many incredible places discover across Sydney and its suburbs.

What could be more romantic than picnic hamper packed for two and breathtaking harbour views. Or long lazy lunch with friends and family? View Sydney is the ideal base to explore the surrounding picnic areas during your stay. We have curated a little list of the best locations and their facilities for you. Which one will you choose first? Why not visit them all.

Wendys Secret Garden

Clark Park is part of the Lavender Bay parklands and literally a stone’s throw way from View Sydney. It offers spectacular views over Lavender Bay and has open grassy spaces with picnic tables and seats. It’s also home for the famous Wendy Whiteley’s Secret Garden which is an attraction by itself. Pooches are welcome on leash and restrooms are close by. Another little gem within Lavender Bay parklands is Watt Park which is perfect for families as it has playground with plenty of shade and water fountain to keep those little ones hydrated. Watt Park connects Quibaree Park to Luna Park, the Harbour Bridge and beyond.

Blues Point Reserve is arguably North Sydney’s most popular park as it’s the most accessible and family friendly. It’s also great location to capture great holiday selfies and pictures as it provides uninterrupted views of Sydney Harbour bridge. There is also water fountain, BBQ stations and restrooms for your comfort – what else could you ask for? Pooches are welcome but must stay on leash.

Bradfield Park is on the other side of Lavender bay and features unique paved under-bridge area deal for strolling, lunch and taking in the iconic views of the Harbour and Circular Quay and Sydney Opera House. This parks fully-fenced playground is one of North Sydney’s most popular and provides activities for kids all ages. Other park features include monthly markets, water fountain, restrooms and pooches are allowed in leash.

Milson Park is North Sydney’s most historically significant parks. It has harbour views and some fine plantings in a formal landscape setting. This foreshore park is particularly spectacular in Spring when the Jacaranda trees in and around McDougall Street are in full bloom. Park Features picnic Tables, water fountain, restrooms, lighting and community garden as well as playground. Pooches are welcome but not permitted within 10m from the playground.
